Ma Cherie

The holy hut night in the magical forest Ma Cherie, ma Cherie. Never will I forget that song that brought me nothing but the brightest fortune for the upcoming year.  Sitting in the car of my wonderful host and his friends taking me to a concert in the snowy mountains of Kazbegi. For the fourth time.  "We will have a party tonight for the Bedobe up in a hut in the forest on top of the mountain. We built it for two years. Do you want to join us?" There went my quiet day as I'd decided to stay another day in this beautiful guest house between the twinkling majesties, have an introspection time for myself starting into the new year.  "Yes, I would love that" I hear myself saying, feeling the excitement and honor of their invitation. Me a foreign woman in my Sakartvelo invited to the holy place of the Georgian mountain men where they spend their day of fortune to manifest love and peace for the world for the upcoming year. Only few hours later, I'm back in their...

Happy New year and Bedobe! Kazbegi - Georgia. Day 1 of a new lucky year full of love and success to come. As I lie on the couch, feeling completely drained from one too many drinks of the night into the New year with our extremely wonderful host and his friends coming to our home at 1 am bringing New year's luck, endless chocolates, champagne and Magic chacha. Some dark cloud of changes, movement, confusion of the unknowing yet to come, crowding my mind, physically unable to move, starring at my phone for a few hours while the girls explore more of the mountains. I hear the door clicking. Domi is back. I keep watching the stream on my phone as I hear Giorgi enter. "Do you wanna come for a walk?" ... "Lina, what about you?" Without thinking I get up, shakingly removing my sleeping pants. "Give me five minutes" I say. Giorgi is waiting for me, smiling happily handing me another chocolate that I've already had about a dozen the hours before. We walk t...

The Spirits of God’s Garden

And so I stand once again at the Marshrutka station, a cappuccino in my hand in a city that I’ve laughed and cried, loved and suffered, enjoyed and hurt.  This city is infinite. As my host had just picked me in front of his house asking me where to, taking me in his car, dropping me at the station, my heart moved of such selfless kindness closing the experience of only one shared evening here at the dirty but well beloved station this morning. “You’re the best guest, I don’t do this for everyone”, he says, hugging me, getting into the car honking the horn, waving goodbye for the last time. I can feel tears rising into my eyes. All my memories coming back, good and bad, emotional ups and downs with people I love, I used to love, who love me, people who thought they loved me and who only pretended to love me. Memories of great joy, happiness and deep love for the right and the wrong people. The sun is shining bright on my face.  Only yesterday I spent the last day with my brothe...

Christmas in Dreamland Svaneti

Image
Christmas Day. “TRAUMLAND SWANETIEN”. Trau...

Pachamama - Superwomen show cry

Mazeri _Svaneti It’s been four months today since I've entered this magical country for the third time, the longest time so far. I’m sitting on the back of a horse - Mimi. In the middle of the Great Caucasus. The air is fresh and cold. The snow around us glittering in the sun once it’s working her way through the thick clouds moving through the mountains bringing the first snow. The surrounding astonishing, breathtaking. Rocks covered in moss, the high snowy peaks of Ushba and his friends around us covered from pine trees carrying the first snow. Magic. My guide for today - Bacho. Part of the family of the guest house. He put me on the back of Mimi. After I’ve been served hot Khatchapuri out of the oven with homemade marmalade for breakfast. What a start into the day. He introduces himself to me, asks me for my name and explains in his broken English that he has a horse behind the house and if I wanted to come outside with him after breakfast. And so    I did.  Just when ...
