Happy New year and Bedobe!
Kazbegi - Georgia. Day 1 of a new lucky year full of love and success to come. As I lie on the couch, feeling completely drained from one too many drinks of the night into the New year with our extremely wonderful host and his friends coming to our home at 1 am bringing New year's luck, endless chocolates, champagne and Magic chacha.
Some dark cloud of changes, movement, confusion of the unknowing yet to come, crowding my mind, physically unable to move, starring at my phone for a few hours while the girls explore more of the mountains.
I hear the door clicking. Domi is back. I keep watching the stream on my phone as I hear Giorgi enter. "Do you wanna come for a walk?" ... "Lina, what about you?" Without thinking I get up, shakingly removing my sleeping pants. "Give me five minutes" I say. Giorgi is waiting for me, smiling happily handing me another chocolate that I've already had about a dozen the hours before.
We walk through the village, he's telling me about the history, old times and how everything is changing. "Do you want to live in Georgia?"
I breathe in the fresh air, the sun shining in my face, my legs still weak trying to adjust to the frozen soil. "Yes." I could very well imagone that. "How do you like Georgian people?" I love them, their warmth, the hospitality, their care for each other as community and human beings. As we continue talking about the old past when people were closer, kinder, giving one another a hand, our ancestors and how we once were all one. Giorgi's a sunshine. Bright. Happy sharing his culture and knowledge of history with me while we're walking around the old Church I laugh and ring the bell. Happy New year.
As we continue walking the girls popp up in front of us. We're talking continuing together on search for bread. Not to be found. Not here. "I drive you to Kazbgi. Happily I jump into his car, consulting the girls for what they need for dinner. Slowly but eagerly my spirits come back to life. "I will stay for one more day" I say, "why not." We're smiling. As we drive Giorgi let's me put on my favorite music. Sia. What else. We're singing along. So much connected to this music throughout my journey, moving on. "Have you been to Sno?" I clearly haven't. Only have I been in a lot of snow lately. "It's the oldest village. I will show you the old castle." My energy is all up and back again in synchronicity. As he shows me rocks shaped into faces of Georgian heroes, he tells me the story about each person and how they saved Georgia. I feel fully connected to the Universe. Mount Kazbeg once again showing his bright snow face glittering in the sun of a fresh and colorful year. As we get out the car, climbing up the old tower he tells me more about the old housebuilding skills as there are only few left with rocks stacked up on top of each other without any cement or paste to hold on to one another. I'm impressed. He's sad about the disinterest of people preserving the ancient techniques of house building as noone knows about the secret of how to build them anymore. Getting back to the car, we're talking about traveling. Nepal. Again. Vipassana. Monk life. Monasteries. Caves. "Oh that's my dream. I've always wanted to go there.." He's so exited. I've heard these exact words one week earlier. "You interrupted me booking it when you came to the house to pick me up and bring me from darkness back into the light."
I feel clarity. Finally. I remember how only an hour ago he told me about Bedoba on the second day of a new year and it stands for Luck. The first two days of the year, when the first guest entering your house in the New year brings you luck. "You were the first one so I feel lucky. He is just so similar to me. The more luck is coming tomorrow when we will practice what will guide us throughout the year of 2022. "We're so likeminded" I hear him say and I feel the same way as he's entered the house, pulling me out my dark hole into the light, into - God's Garden as he explains that guests are a Gift of God which is why we are treated like Angels bringing luck when he comes to get me to find the final ingredients for our first and last meal together, bringing us fortune and wealth for the upcoming year.
All Goddesses were gathered here in the same place to potentialize our luck, closing circles making a wall fortune grow, connect and interact within and without all our cultures and times rooting in heritage. Lucky number 2022. Twinkling sparkling lights all around in all colors up in the skies. In the stars.
~ Let's end for tonight and continue tomorrow ~
