An unexpected Touch
And so I watch them walking out the metal gate leaving this beautiful garden the mountains in the back with the view on the old towers hearing the white noise of Ushguli river. Tears rise up my eyes. My heart. Saying bye still hurts. I Love them.Their soul, their open, kind, interested minds, embracing me the first night we met, not even two days before. Inviting me for a beer the most happy smile in his face, he keeps asking me all kinds of questions about who I am, and what I do with my life. "I am so happy I got to meet and talk to you" He says, my heart is smiling, moved, touched in a way that seems I have been missing. Only the next morning right before taking off to another day of hiking he hands me a Golden Coin and says: "There is something I want to give you. It's the Slovakian national hero. It shall bring you Luck for your journey." I hugged him, more like falling into his arms so touched by this random gesture caring so deeply from his heart and touching mine in a way only few things or people have the past weeks. Meeting them again four hours later at the peak of the trail, the highest point of the way their kindness runs nothing short from before showing their generosity making us a freshly brewed coffee in the midst of the most humbling nature. Their attentiveness knows no limitations.
Spending an inconvenient night at a place that made me feel out of space they saved me having hired a car, offering to take me with them after a night of heavy rain spending their last hours with me, sharing their time, food and drinks, leaving me even the last power bar for the hike before taking off. Only spending these few hours sharing our all we are, made me connect to my own being so deeply again. Finding noo words for how profoundly this young couple touched my heart and showed me what open kindness and unconditional love truly means - yes I use this term a lot but these two opened up my horizon, new perspectives by sharing their time so generously with me, making me understand fundamentally again what these words could possibly mean and in which beautiful ways they could manifest. Thank you.
